Temple Library is celebrating Library Card Sign-up Month this September, so the Friends of the Temple Public Library hosted a Labor Day Book sale with over 45,000 books for only $1 to $2 on Sept. 1 through Sept. 5. 

The Friends of the Temple Public Library sorted the 45,000 books into over 90 genre categories and hosted the Labor Day Book sale to support the Temple Public Library. 

The volunteers also do other fundraisers, sponsor the Exploration Station outreach vehicle carrying books, sponsor different library programs and organize another semi-annual book sale. 

Everyone is welcome to the semi-annual book sales, but library card holders also have access to study rooms, adult programs and other library services.

To celebrate Library Card Sign-up Month, the Temple Public Library is giving out limited-edition tote bags to people who sign  up for a library card. 

Non-resident students may get their own library card, sticker and tote bag by paying the annual fee for non-resident car-holders or participating in the free TexShare card program at their home library. 

The Temple Public Library’s lending policy says, “Visiting TexShare card users may register for a Temple Public Library Card at the circulation desk on the first floor. They must provide their TexShare card from their home library and a photo ID.”
