Election Day Starts Early for Texas Voters
By Stephen Sherwood, Staff Writer
Election Day is set for Nov. 3, 2026, with the polls opening for early voting on Oct.19. While voting opens earlier than the official day, there are a few things that voters will have to complete before they are allowed to vote.
Registration is required to vote in the state of Texas. While the process to register can be done through the state’s online website (see the end of this article), aspiring voters can also register at public libraries, post offices or local election offices. For those wanting to vote locally you can contact Desi Roberts, elections administrator for Bell County, can be seen in person at 550 East 2nd Avenue, Belton, or mail to P.O. Box 1629, Belton. Call at 254-933-5774, or fax at 254-933-6754.
Keep in mind that the submission of a registration application must be done 30 days before Election Day. Voters should apply quickly for early voting; the deadline to submit a voter registration application is Oct. 5, 2026. Uniform Election Day is Nov. 3, 2026
The votetexas.gov website said, “The process of voting is as easy as ABC. Fill out, print, sign and mail out a voter registration Application (A). Receive your Ballot (B) either in person or through the mail. Lastly, Cast (C) the vote for the chosen candidate and turn it in to be counted by the polling office.”
