Superman Hall Wins the Lord Hall Games
By Aubrey Tipton, Staff Writer
The first ever Lord Hall Games occurred where six teams competed in a tournament-style elimination, divided into three separate games Aug. 17-19.
Taylor Millard explained that Lord Hall was divided into six different teams; Ironman, Batman, Superman, Flash, Captain America and Thor. The teams are organized by floor and room number. Each RA would get all of the evens on one floor and then all of the odds on another floor.
Each night contains a different game. The first night was kickball, the second night was sand volleyball and the third night the Price is Right. The RA’s had created the games to be acceptable for everyone. If someone did not want to play the outdoor games, the Price is Right was an indoor game.
The way the scoring works is the team in first place for the game would receive 50 points. If a team came in second place they would receive 30, and third place would receive 15 points. Each team has the possibility of winning points for attendance. The most attendance in a team would receive an extra 10 bonus points. A team would also receive five points per person that would attend.
After three nights of the competition, Superman came out as winner for the first-ever Lord Hall Games.
