The Central Texas Military Officers Association of America, held its Scholarship Golf Fundraiser on Sept. 11, 2026. 

The golf tournament began at 8:30 a.m. and ended at 1 p.m. which was when lunch was served. Raffle prizes/items were claimed during this time as well. Winners for the golf tournament, as well as silent auction winners were announced at the end of the event . Raffle tickets at this fundraiser were sold for a chance to win multiple donated items, such as coolers, and grills.

The MOAA fosters relationships among retired, active duty and former officers. People who wanted to participate in the event paying a fee, with individual playing costs being $125 , and teams being $500. The MOAA regional chapter gives out a scholarship to UMHB, as well Texas A&M University Central Texas and three for high school seniors in JROTC who plan to transition into a college ROTC program.

“We started with one, $1,000 scholarship, and now we are aiming for five, $5,000 scholarships,” President of MOAA, Colonel David Sage said.
