Outside of Chick-fil-A or Moe’s Southwest Grill on campus, there are plenty of great places around Bell County for students to enjoy an evening or weekend meal out. Miso Pick & Mix, located just off West Adams Avenue at 7011 Tanglehead Drive Suite No. 110 in Temple, offers a blend of Korean and Japanese-style dishes and drinks.

The team at Miso Pick & Mix takes pride in their service. “…Miso means SMILE! We will be offering free SMILE and offering high quality & consistent food that tastes great every single time!” Miso Pick & Mix said on their Facebook page.

When asked about Miso Pick & Mix, senior nursing student Arwen Seaton said, “The reason I think that Miso is so awesome, especially for college students, is one, it’s really good Asian food for an affordable price …and the portion sizes last for more than one meal. Two, it escapes the college bubble that is Belton.”

The restaurant has a large selection of starters and smaller snack items like musubi, kimbop and egg rolls. One of the restaurant’s main offerings is the Miso Bowl, containing a base of white rice, glass noodles or spring mix. For the protein, there is a selection of bulgogi, spicy pork, Korean popcorn chicken, tuna, salmon, crab and tofu.

Customers can then add a variety of vegetables and sauces to round out their bowl. The range of choices allows for even the pickiest of eaters to create their preferred meal.

Customers can pair the Miso Bowl with an imported Korean or Japanese drink as well, most notably Milkis, a South Korean carbonated milk drink.

Miso Pick & Mix is open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. The restaurant is closed on Sundays.
