University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Acrobatics and Tumbling made history on Mar. 20 becoming the first division three team to beat a division one acro and tumbling school.

The event was held at Buffalo State in Buffalo New York and was a tri-team meet where the Cru faced off against Division one Canisius University and Division three Buffalo State.

UMHB earned their highest combined score of the year, finishing with a season high of 258.30 points. One of the reasons behind success is a productive mindset and a hundred percent effort.

“We all came in there with a positive attitude. We all had a lot of fun, and we put all of our hearts out onto the mat,” Senior base and tumbler Alexis Kokel said.

The season high scorecard was much needed for the Cru after back-to-back losses only scoring 248.895 points in their recent meet against Gannon University. “We were just a little upset with the score, so we wanted to go back out there to prove ourselves and prove to everyone that we are a good team,” Kokel said.

As the regular season ends the Cru will need to continue to come together as they look to win a fourth straight NCATA division three championship on Apr. 11.
